We firmly believe that the best food is prepared simply, using the best possible ingredients and made with love.  We would like to invite you to join us at our family dinner table and experience that love and passion for great food.

We use organic, local and sustainable products as much as possible.

Chef Marco

Marco’s passion for food came from a lifetime of eating at the tables of his mother and grandmother. He went on to work as a cook at several notable Portland area restaurants before moving on to Florence, Italy to study and work; there, he received a Master’s in Culinary Arts at Apicius International School of Hospitality. He then spent several months traveling, living and cooking with his family in Tuscany, Umbria and Calabria, and working in restaurants in Tuscany and Sicily. When he returned home he opened Gilda’s.

Grandma Gilda

Gilda took great pleasure in feeding her family, friends and neighbors. Her cooking was legendary, homemade pastas, pizzas, braciole, meatballs, soups and her desserts. For Grandma Gilda, food was love, and she filled many lives with her wonderful cooking. After her passing in 2008, Marco decided to honor her memory by naming the restaurant after her.

Lounge

Our lounge is a relaxed, comfortable space, serving an extensive imported and domestic wine list, craft cocktails and 14 local beers and ciders on tap. In addition, we have 2 food menus available, our lounge menu offering small plates and the full restaurant menu.
